Gold Electroplating - 99.99% Pure | 99.70% Cobalt Hardened
Gold is referred to as a precious metal because of its scarcity and exceptionally high value. It offers superior corrosion protection and wear resistance, excellent electrical conductivity, and reliable protection from intense heat.  Gold plating is available as 99.99% pure as well as 99.70% cobalt hardened gold.

Silver Electroplating
Silver is a precious metal that can be used in a wide range of applications. Silver offers the advantage of being significantly less expensive than gold or platinum, while still offering important physical properties. Silver has a remarkable ability to conduct electricity and heat, while increasing resistance to corrosion.

Copper Electroplating
Copper plating is a great option providing excellent corrosion resistance, a lubricious coating for redrawing applications, and as a strike layer to promote strong adhesion of the main plating.  Heavy copper plating deposits can be applied to increase conductivity and further improve corrosion protection.

Nickel Electroplating
Nickel is a lustrous metal that offers many functional advantages. Key nickel plating benefits include enhanced corrosion protection, greater wear resistance, and increased surface thickness.  A fine layer of Nickel, referred to as a nickel strike, is commonly applied prior to the deposit of other metals.

Tin Electroplating
Tin is significantly less expensive than other metals and its abundant supply makes it a popular choice for many different applications. Tin plating offers excellent corrosion protection, great solderability, and good contact resistance.  Tin plating is available in matte or bright.

Tin/Lead Electroplating - Tin/Lead Ratios of 95/5 | 90/10 | 60/40
Tin/Lead plating offers excellent corrosion protection, best solderability, and good contact resistance.  Tin/Lead plating is available in matte or bright.  This plating finish is not RoHS Compliant.

Centuries of Plating Knowledge

In 1840 the Elkington cousins managed to create a feasible process of coating one metal onto another, allowing manufacturers to use relatively inexpensive wire and apply different metals on the surface to provide corrosion resistance, protection, conductivity, and other properties desired for the product's application. They quickly attained a patent for electroplating and this method became widely spread throughout the world from England.

Here at Elkem, Inc, we apply the respected history of electroplating in daily practice to stand on innovation and current methodology. We have gradually refined our technique to become more efficient and advanced through the use of eco-friendly formulas and state-of-the-art technology.

Elkem, Inc. excels at precision reel-to-reel wire plating. The quality of our workmanship stems from custom-built machines that accommodate the tightest tolerances in combination with expert manufacturing staff. We have the experience to exceed customer expectations by combining decades of metallurgical knowledge with advanced engineering techniques, allowing us to achieve an unparalleled finished product. Our team focuses on exceptional quality control through adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Standards.

Elkem has become a well established leader in the industry by delivering precision electroplated wire to the world's most system-critical processes and devices.

At Elkem, Inc., we follow proprietary processes for removing soap, grease, oil, and oxides to prepare bare wire for electroplating.
