Elkem, Inc. is committed to consistently producing high-quality plated and specialty wire products through a disciplined, process-controlled Quality Management System.
Our AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System provides the framework for maintaining product consistency, traceability, process control and continuous improvement throughout our manufacturing operations.
Quality verification is integrated throughout our production process. Elkem performs inspection and testing for characteristics including plating thickness, strike thickness, adhesion, solderability, plating concentricity, tensile strength, elongation and break strength. Our internal capabilities allow us to closely monitor both product quality and process performance from incoming material through final inspection.
As a custom wire manufacturer, Elkem supports a wide range of production requirements, from specialized development and low-volume orders to ongoing high-volume production.
We understand that every application presents its own requirements. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, we work directly with our customers to understand their specifications, performance requirements and end-use applications.
Automated process controls, documented procedures and experienced production personnel work together to maintain repeatable manufacturing conditions and consistent product quality. Quality has been part of Elkem's foundation since Herbert E. Kent founded the company in 1969. His commitment to disciplined manufacturing, product consistency and customer service established principles that continue to guide the company today.
That commitment has continued through successive generations of the Kent family and throughout the Elkem team.
Under the leadership of Thomas Kent, President, Elkem formalized and strengthened its Quality Management System through ISO 9001 certification and, most recently, AS9100 certification.
These certifications represent the continued development of the same commitment established more than five decades ago: manufacturing reliable products, maintaining disciplined processes and continually improving the way we serve our customers.
